[COVID-19] Distance learning capabilities free for MEXL instructors

on . Posted in News

Dear Colleagues,

We hope that your semester started off well before the incredible personal and teaching disruptions that many of us are facing with the spread of COVID-19.  As many universities are eliminating in-person teaching for the near future (including ours – Penn State University and ESSEC Business School), we want to make sure instructors have the resources needed to continue to teach the Marketing Engineering models remotely.

For the majority of our instructors, moving to distance-based learning with the Marketing Engineering software should not be difficult. For those that have already switched to Enginius, your students will be able to access the software from anywhere in the world as long as they have a computer/tablet and an internet connection.  For those that have purchased a Marketing Engineering for Excel package that includes the software downloaded to students’ personal computers, your students will still be able to access all the software and models as previously as long as they have access to their computers.

The difficult scenario is for those instructors that only have the Marketing Engineering for Excel software installed in a teaching/computer lab on campus that students can no longer access.  For these instructors, we would like to offer you a complimentary license for the remainder of the semester to our online software—Enginius—for your class so that your students can continue to access the marketing models that they need. While there will be a small learning curve with the different interface (for both you and the students), the Enginius solution will allow you to continue to use the Marketing Engineering cases that you are familiar with in a completely online environment. All Marketing Engineering for Excel cases with the exception of the ABB Customer Choice case (for which we have developed the Hansen Foundation case as a replacement) have already been ported to Enginius and are preloaded in the online Dashboard.

If you have not had the chance to explore Enginius yet, please take a look at our Quick Tour videos on our Enginius.biz website to get an idea of the interface:  https://www.enginius.biz/index.php/quick-tour/.

We also suggest that you register as an instructor on the site so that you can fully explore the software:  https://www.enginius.biz/index.php/registration/instructor/.

If you find Enginius will solve your online teaching dilemma, please contact Steve at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. and he will get you set up with an Enginius license for your class.

Stay Safe,
